One thing that everyone always asks about singing is how to get a richer, fuller sound. Well, the secret seems easy, but it’s harder to execute than it sounds.
And that secret involves a part of the body that is always in the way for singers.
If you can master this secret and put it into practice you can give your voice the same richness that a grand piano has when the lid is open.
Have you ever played or heard someone playing a grand piano with the lid down and with the lid up? The difference in the richness of the tone is staggering. And it’s the same for you!
When your soft palate is closed, so is the lid to your grand piano!
And to achieve that open, rich sound, lower your tongue and lay it down behind your teeth and keep it there, always. Obviously, some letters will require the movement of your tongue to different positions to say them, but when you’re not using it, keep it out of the way by lowering it and opening up that soft palate.
I can’t wait for you to try this trick! Let me know how it goes!
